Crypto Casinos for Players in Iceland: What Accepts Crypto and What It Costs

Five of our listed casinos take crypto deposits. How they handle wallets, KYC and the €100 minimum withdrawal, and how Skatturinn taxes crypto you spend.

A crypto casino is an online casino that takes deposits, and usually pays withdrawals, in cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin. For a player in Iceland, five of the casinos we list show crypto in their cashier: Wildzy, Smash Casino, Kingdom Casino, Aphrodite Casino and Wino Casino. Your balance is still held in euros, the same withdrawal limits apply as for cards, and identity checks still happen. Crypto also brings a tax point most guides skip: Skatturinn treats paying with crypto as selling it.

This page is about how crypto deposits work at those five sites in practice, what they cost, and the Icelandic rules around them. It is not an argument for using crypto; for most players a card or Revolut in euros is simpler, and our euro casino guide explains the costs of that route.

Casinos that accept crypto from Iceland

We re-ordered our usual list for this page and included only the brands that show crypto as a payment method. Wildzy is first because it pairs crypto with a 10x wagering label on its welcome package. Trixino, Lucki Casino and Slottio do not list crypto (they take Visa, Mastercard, Google Pay and Revolut), so they are left out here and appear in our main online casino list instead.

All five hold Anjouan licences and none is licensed in Iceland, because Iceland issues no online casino licences. Offers are the headline packages shown on 8 October 2026 and can vary by country.

How a crypto deposit works at these casinos

  1. Register and open the cashier. The coins accepted are not published before you sign up. The cashier shows a “Crypto” option; the list of coins and networks appears inside it.
  2. Copy the deposit address shown at that moment. The shared terms (clause 4.14) say you must use the wallet details valid at the time of deposit, that the casino may change its wallets periodically, and that reusing an old address without asking support first can mean the funds are lost and never credited.
  3. Send from your own wallet or exchange account. Pick the same coin and network as the address. A token sent on the wrong network is the most common way crypto deposits go missing.
  4. Wait for confirmations. The casino credits your account once the blockchain confirms the transfer. Your balance is then shown in euros.
  5. Withdraw back to a wallet. The same terms set a minimum of €100 (13,700 kr.) for crypto withdrawals, the same as for bank and e-wallet methods.

Because the account is in euros, the casino converts your coins at deposit and converts euros back to coins at withdrawal. The rate it uses is set by the casino or its payment provider; we could not see it without depositing.

Crypto versus cards: the numbers side by side

Point Crypto at these five casinos Icelandic debit or credit card
Account currency EUR (coins converted on arrival) EUR (krónur converted by your bank)
Conversion cost Exchange spread when you buy coins, plus the casino’s rate on deposit and withdrawal, plus network fees Bank premium of 2.30% to 2.70% on the card scheme rate (Landsbankinn, Íslandsbanki, Arion price lists 2026)
Minimum withdrawal €100 €100
Maximum withdrawal €1,000 a day, €10,000 a month €1,000 a day, €10,000 a month
Identity checks May be requested on first withdrawal May be requested on first withdrawal
Price risk Coin price moves between buying, depositing and cashing out Only the ISK/EUR rate
Chargebacks Not possible (blockchain transfers are final) The terms forbid chargebacks; your bank’s rules still apply

The headline is that crypto does not unlock bigger or faster withdrawals at these sites. The €1,000 daily and €10,000 monthly caps in clause 6.13 cover crypto too, and the terms say withdrawals are typically processed within three banking days whatever the method.

“No KYC” crypto casinos: what the terms actually say

“No KYC casino” is a popular search, and many crypto sites market themselves on it. None of the five brands above promises that. Their terms say you may be asked for identity documents with your first withdrawal, that further checks can depend on the payment channel, and that the casino can identify players by name, address, IP address and payment details to stop bonus abuse. Plan on verifying before you cash out. If a site promises never to check who you are, ask yourself how it meets anti-money-laundering rules and what happens to your balance if it changes its mind.

Crypto rules in Iceland

Iceland now regulates crypto-asset service providers. Act No. 101/2025 on markets in crypto-assets (lög um markaði fyrir sýndareignir), which brings the EU’s MiCA regulation into Icelandic law, took effect on 1 January 2026, and the Central Bank’s financial supervision (fjármálaeftirlit Seðlabanka Íslands) supervises crypto-asset service providers. If you buy crypto through an exchange, check that it is authorised to serve customers in Iceland.

The Anti-Money Laundering Act (lög nr. 140/2018) also covers crypto service providers and requires customer due diligence on crypto transactions of €1,000 or more. Separately, RÚV reported in October 2025 that crypto and foreign cards had become very common in betting, which is why card data understates how much Icelanders spend at foreign sites.

None of this changes the gambling side. Iceland has no licence for online casinos, the casinos we list are licensed abroad, and the Lotteries Act (lög um happdrætti nr. 38/2005, 11. gr.) restricts advertising unlicensed gambling. Players are not prosecuted in practice: police reported 14 gambling-related matters in five years, none of which led to an investigation (RÚV, 21 October 2025). Our legal guide has the details.

Tax: spending crypto counts as selling it

Skatturinn’s page on crypto (rafmynt) says there are no special tax rules for crypto, so general rules apply. A gain on crypto is the difference between what you paid for the coins and their value when you dispose of them, and it is fully taxable in the year of sale regardless of how long you held them. Crucially, Skatturinn says that handing over crypto in exchange for goods or services, that is, paying with it, counts as a sale.

For a casino deposit that means: if you bought 0.01 BTC for 80,000 kr. and it is worth 95,000 kr. when you send it to a casino, you have a 15,000 kr. gain to report, even if you then lose the deposit. When gains are taxed as capital income, the rate in 2026 is 22% (Skatturinn’s key figures for 2026), which in this example is 3,300 kr. Skatturinn notes that crypto gains can in some cases be treated as wages or business income instead, depending on the facts.

Gambling winnings are a separate item. Winnings from foreign commercial casinos are taxable income under the Income Tax Act (lög um tekjuskatt nr. 90/2003, 7. gr. A-liður 4. tölul.); only winnings from Iceland’s six licensed operators and similar good-cause lotteries are exempt. Withdrawing your winnings in crypto does not change that. Keep a record of every coin purchase, deposit and withdrawal in krónur.

Price risk, worked through

Crypto adds a second exchange rate to your play. Take a player who deposits €200 of Bitcoin, ends a session on €300 and withdraws in Bitcoin. If Bitcoin falls 10% in krónur before they sell the coins, the €300 withdrawal is worth about 10% less in krónur than when it left the casino. If it rises 10%, they gain, and that gain is taxable when they dispose of the coins. A stablecoin pegged to the US dollar avoids most coin volatility but still leaves dollar-to-krónur movement, and we could not confirm which stablecoins the five casinos accept before signup.

Bonuses with crypto deposits

The welcome packages on these sites are deposit match bonuses in euros, and we found nothing on the promotions pages that excludes crypto deposits from them or offers a crypto-only bonus. Check the specific bonus terms in the cashier before you claim. The wagering labels differ a lot:

Casino Slots package (EUR) In krónur at 137.0 Wagering label
Wildzy 600% up to €10,000 over 4 deposits about 1.37m kr. 10x
Smash Casino 600% up to €10,000 over 5 deposits about 1.37m kr. 10x
Kingdom Casino 600% up to €9,500 over 4 deposits about 1.3m kr. 10x
Aphrodite Casino 700% up to €7,000 over 5 deposits about 959,000 kr. 25x
Wino Casino 600% up to €10,000 over 5 deposits about 1.37m kr. 25x

The pages do not say whether the wagering applies to the bonus alone or to deposit plus bonus. With a €100 first deposit matched 200% (a €200 bonus), 10x means €2,000 of bets if it is bonus-only, or €3,000 if it counts deposit plus bonus. Max cashout from a deposit bonus is capped at 25 times the bonus under the shared terms. There are no no-deposit bonuses at any of these brands; our casino bonus guide covers the maths in more detail.

Crypto games and crash games

Many crypto-first casinos push “originals” and crash games. At these five, the game lobby is the same as for card players: slots from studios including Play’n GO, Hacksaw, Relax Gaming, BGaming and Playson, live tables, and crash-style games from Spribe, the studio behind Aviator. Nothing is crypto-only. See our online slots guide for how RTP and volatility work, which matters more to your results than the payment method.

What about Stake and other crypto-first brands?

Stake is the best-known crypto casino searched in Iceland. Its terms name Medium Rare N.V. and a Curaçao licence. It is not a partner of ours, we do not link to it, and our Stake review sets out what it says about Iceland and how it compares with the casinos above.

Exchange account or your own wallet?

You can send a deposit straight from an exchange account or from a wallet you control (self-custody). Each has a catch. Some exchanges restrict or question transfers to gambling sites under their own terms, and a transfer from an exchange is linked to your verified identity there anyway. A self-custody wallet gives you full control, but a mistyped address or wrong network cannot be reversed by anyone. Whichever you use, the casino sees only the transaction on the chain, and it will still ask you to verify your identity before paying out.

Think about the return trip before you deposit. If you withdraw to an exchange, you will usually sell the coins there for euros or krónur and then move the money to your Icelandic bank, which can add a withdrawal fee and another conversion. Withdrawing to a self-custody wallet means you hold the coins and the price risk until you sell.

Five mistakes that lose crypto deposits

  • Reusing an old deposit address. The terms warn that wallets change and old addresses may not be credited.
  • Wrong network. USDT, for example, exists on several blockchains; sending on a network the cashier does not show can strand the funds.
  • Forgetting a memo or tag. Some coins need one; if the cashier shows a tag field, fill it in.
  • Depositing less than you could ever withdraw. With a €100 minimum withdrawal, a €40 deposit that grows to €90 is stuck until you reach €100 or lose it.
  • Ignoring network fees on small amounts. A fixed fee hurts more on a 5,000 kr. deposit than on a 50,000 kr. one.

Crypto, card or Revolut: which suits you?

If you… Usually simplest Why

Checklist before your first crypto deposit

  • Buy coins through a provider authorised under Iceland’s crypto act, and keep the receipts.
  • Check the coin and network inside the casino cashier, and copy a fresh deposit address every time.
  • Send a small test amount first.
  • Remember the €100 minimum withdrawal and the €1,000 daily cap.
  • Have ID ready for your first withdrawal.
  • Note the krónur value at each step for Skatturinn.
  • Set a budget in krónur, not in coins.

Help and age limit

Gambling is for people aged 18 and over. Crypto makes it easy to move money quickly and late at night, which is exactly when limits slip. If gambling stops being fun, contact SÁÁ on 530-7600 (free gambling-addiction programme), the Red Cross helpline 1717 (open 24/7, free and anonymous) or GA Iceland on 698-3888. Our responsible gambling page lists more options.

How we checked this page

We read each brand’s cashier strip and the shared general terms dated 2 July 2026 (clauses 4.14, 6.1, 6.6 and 6.13) on the operators’ sites, and their promotions pages on 8 October 2026. Crypto law comes from Alþingi’s text of Act No. 101/2025 and Act No. 140/2018 and the Central Bank’s consumer page on crypto-assets. Tax points come from Skatturinn’s crypto page and its 2026 key figures, and the Income Tax Act on althingi.is. We did not deposit crypto, so the coin list, exchange rate and confirmation times are not stated.

Frequently asked questions

Which casinos on your list accept crypto from Iceland?

Wildzy, Smash Casino, Kingdom Casino, Aphrodite Casino and Wino Casino show crypto in their cashier. Trixino, Lucki Casino and Slottio take cards, Google Pay and Revolut but do not list crypto.

Which coins can I deposit?

The operators do not publish the coin list before you register; it appears inside the cashier. Always match the coin and network shown with the deposit address.

Are crypto withdrawals faster or larger?

Not under the terms. Crypto has the same €100 minimum, €1,000 daily and €10,000 monthly limits as other methods, and withdrawals are typically processed within three banking days.

Can I play at a crypto casino without KYC?

Do not count on it. The shared terms at these casinos say identity documents may be requested on your first withdrawal and that checks can depend on the payment method.

Do I pay tax when I deposit crypto at a casino?

Possibly. Skatturinn says paying for goods or services with crypto counts as selling it, so any rise in value since you bought the coins is a taxable gain. Gambling winnings from foreign commercial casinos are taxable income as well.

Iceland has no licence for online casinos, whatever the payment method. The casinos we list are licensed abroad and not in Iceland. Players are not prosecuted in practice, but the law restricts promoting unlicensed gambling, and crypto service providers are regulated under Act No. 101/2025.
