About this site
Editorial Policy
How Iceland Casino sources facts, has a second editor check every page, handles corrections and updates, and keeps commercial partners out of its copy.
This policy explains how we research, check, correct and update everything published on Iceland Casino. It applies to every page, in English and Icelandic.
Sourcing
We use primary sources first and say where each fact comes from:
- Law: the consolidated texts on althingi.is, such as lög um happdrætti nr. 38/2005 and the Income Tax Act nr. 90/2003, quoted with the article number.
- Regulators: licence registers and decisions, for example the Anjouan licence register, the Curaçao Gaming Authority register, the Malta Gaming Authority and fjölmiðlanefnd.
- Casinos: each operator’s own terms and promotion pages, with the version date or the date we read them.
- Money: exchange rates from the Central Bank of Iceland and fees from banks’ own price lists.
- Help services: phone numbers checked on each organisation’s own website.
We use news reports (for example RÚV or Vísir) for events and statistics they report, and name the outlet and date. We do not use other affiliate sites as sources for facts.
Fact-checking by a second editor
Every page has an author and a reviewer, both shown on the page. The reviewer is always a different editor: legal and responsible-gambling pages are reviewed against the law texts, casino pages against the operator’s terms. A claim that cannot be confirmed from a reliable source is removed or clearly marked as unconfirmed. Each page ends with a short “How we checked this page” note listing the checks done.
Rules we never break
- We never describe a foreign casino as licensed in Iceland, and never say winnings from foreign casinos are untaxed.
- We never invent offers, test results, quotes or credentials.
- Every page carries the 18+ notice and Icelandic help numbers.
- We do not write for minors or use content that appeals mainly to them.
Corrections
If you spot an error, email [email protected] with the page address and the source for the correct fact. We check every report. When we correct a material fact (a law, a licence, a bonus term, a phone number), we update the page and its date, and note the correction in the “How we checked this page” section.
Updates
Casino offers change often, so every offer is shown with the date we saw it. We re-check our listed offers and terms regularly and update a page when anything changes. Legal pages are reviewed when a bill, court decision or regulator decision appears, and at least every few months. The “Updated” date on a page shows the last real change, not a cosmetic one.
Independence
We earn affiliate commission from the casinos in our lists. Commercial partners do not write, see in advance or approve our pages, and they cannot pay to change what we write about them. Brands we have no agreement with, such as Coolbet or Stake, are covered factually and without links, and we point readers to the casinos we list as alternatives. Read more about us or see how we rate casinos.
How we checked this page
This policy was reviewed on 8 October 2026 by Kristín Óskarsdóttir against our current pages, including our guide to Icelandic gambling law and our responsible gambling page.
Frequently asked questions
Who checks the facts on Iceland Casino?
Every page is checked by a second editor, named on the page, before it is published. Legal pages are checked against the law texts on althingi.is and casino pages against the operator’s own terms.
How do I report an error?
Email [email protected] with the page address and a source for the correct fact. We check every report and update the page if it is wrong.
Do casinos approve your reviews?
No. Casinos in our lists pay us commission for referred players, but they do not write, see or approve our pages in advance.
How often are offers updated?
Each offer shows the date we saw it, and we re-check listed offers and terms regularly. When an offer changes, we update the page and its date.
